Burberry opens its flagship shop in Seoul

The British luxury fashion brand, Burberry, has opened its first Korean flagship store in Seoul, where a number of foreign brands have gathered.

The 13-storey Burberry store exterior is inspired by gabardine, the plaid textile used to make the brands most iconic trench coat.

Flagship stores, in the early 2000’s, were seen as just as large-scale stores. However, flagship stores have now become an important way to represent the influence and image of a brand.

Dior opened the largest flagship store in Cheongdam in June, and now other brands like Chanel and Cartier will be opening new stores or moving to the Cheongdam area.
