Gloria Jean's Coffee continues European growth
Who we are
Gloria Jean's Coffees is a leading Australian coffee house operator and sells hand crafted signature hot and cold coffee drinks, traditional espresso drinks, a range of single origins, blends and estate whole bean coffees and speciality teas, along with pastries and coffee accessories in a comfortable and friendly environment.
Gloria Jean's Coffees' success around the world is built not only on our passion to offer the best quality coffee, but in knowing that to be loved and respected you must first respect the cultures and needs of others. That's why we understand that no matter where you visit us around the world, it's important that our signature experience also has a touch of local culture and taste. It's how our vision to be the most loved and respected coffee company worldwide is supporting our global business growth.
Our most successful and mature market is Australia and while we expect some new players (India and China for example) to be nipping at the heels of the number of Australia's outlets, it's the Australian success that has provided the foundation and a stable launch pad for our efforts to take over the world! We are proudly Australian owned.
So from Kalgoorlie in Western Australia, to Kazakhstan in Eastern Europe, we aim to make all our guests feel truly at home. First and foremost Coffee is our Hero. Creating the ultimate coffee experience, from bean to cup for every guest we serve is at the heart of what we do.
We believe in supporting the communities that have embraced us. We are committed to leaving a net positive benefit in both the communities from where we source our coffee and those communities we serve. That's why we put so much passion into selecting the world's highest quality Arabica beans, sourcing directly from farms in the top growing regions worldwide. We lovingly roast each batch of coffee in our state of the art roasting facilities in Sydney, Australia and handcraft each drink in store to provide not just a cup of coffee but the ultimate coffee experience.
Gloria Jean's Coffees Vision is to be the most loved and respected coffee company in the world, which includes having a presence in all capital cities. It has always been in our hearts to take great coffee and a family-based on our Values to the world. Through opening outlets around the world aligned Master Franchise Partners we are able to positively impact the people in our family.
Our Vision was born even before the first store opened in Australia, yet it still applies in all of our international markets. Our market entry, and where outlets are located in each market.
These factors include:
- Consumers: Proportion and magnitude of a suitable demographic population segment who have the ability to purchase a coffee beverage at our price point
- Product relevance: Per capita Coffee/Tea consumption
- Business Model: Whether Master Franchising and possible Sub-Franchising is recognised as a business model and the existence of chains (not necessarily coffee)
- Supply/Logistics: Our core products can be successfully supplied or sourced
- Regulatory Environment: A legal environment that protects intellectual property and contractual rights and a tax and fiscal structure that enables payment of royalties and advertising levies
Thereafter the identification of a suitable Master Franchise Partner dictates the timing.
Gloria Jean's Coffees International has in place Strategic Planning and an Annual Operating Plan in which it plans for and targets expansion opportunities in international markets.
Plus, the world was more than ready for great coffee! With the rise in coffee consumption and the maturation of coffee drinkers around the world, our business model delivers on the needs of sophisticated coffee consumers. A serious challenger to other coffee house chains in the global market is long overdue.
