Schmizza International, Inc. (Schmizza) was established in Hillsboro, Oregon in 1993 by Andre and Carla Jehan. In the years since, Andre has sold control of the business but he remains a large shareholder, a top franchisee, and the brand’s special ambassador. He develops our pizza combinations and recipes, as well as heavily in influencing the development of our brand. Schmizza began marketing franchises in 2001 and has now expanded to 22 franchised and two company-owned outlets in the United States.
Schmizza Franchise Opportunities:
Schmizza is expanding by means of Area Development Franchising as well as through Master Franchising, whereby the Schmizza format, brand, and methods are licensed to third parties in new international territories for a fee and an ongoing nancial consideration.
As an Area Developer, you will be granted the right to open a pre-determined number of outlets in a certain geographic territory. A schedule will be provided as to how many outlets will be opened within a certain period of time.
As a Master Franchisee, you will be able to develop your own expansion schedule as well as market our Schmizza franchises throughout your territory.
This method of expansion provides Schmizza with a means of establishing an International presence for the brand rapidly and sustainably, while o ering you and your team the opportunity to share in our success. You can replicate the Schmizza business in your exclusive territory.
Our World Class Restaurants:
Schmizza Pub & Grub -
is an exciting, happening place with a pizza by the slice bar, the other kind of bar, and plenty of seating for enjoying our terri c pizza, pastas, schwings, salads, and schmore! Your Schmizza Pub & Grub can accommodate from 45 diners and up. There really is no upper seating limit, though most are 2,500 – 3,500 square feet and seat 80. The focus is on pizza by the slice, beer, and cocktails in a friendly atmosphere.
Schmizza Public House -
concept is every bit as exciting as the Schmizza Pub & Grub, but they are much larger, with a more diverse menu featuring burgers, tacos and other eclectic o erings in addition to our pizza specialties. With a larger footprint, typically 4,000 – 6,000 square feet, seating for 80 – 150, and 20 or more beers on tap, a full bar, and pizza is o ered in pie format, rather than by the slice. Schmizza Pubic Houses can accommodate large parties and often include a private party room.
Pizza Schmizza -
is the smallest of our models, typically requiring 2,000 – 2,500 square feet. Focused on pizza by the slice, the menu is more limited with seating generally for 40 – 60. The principle di erence between this model and the Schmizza Pub & Grub is the absence of a bar or other alcohol, though most Pizza Schmizzas o er bottled beers.

Schmizza asks for an initial Area Development Fee based on an agreed development plan – the number of outlets to be opened and the relevant territory being negotiated. This fee will vary from location to location.
Bearing in mind the above, you will need a net worth and liquidity su cient to meet the investment for a multi-unit development. The scale of this will greatly depend on the number of outlets to be developed in your territory. An initial budget of not less than $5 to $10 million should be available depending on the targeted area.Ongoing, an Area Developer Franchise Owner will pay Schmizza on a weekly basis, royalty fees that will be a percentage of your turnover, based on gross sales achieved. You will also contribute to our Marketing Fund.Area Development Franchising necessitates a Franchise Development package tailored to individual requirements.
